The anticipation of the game was doused by our opponents who arrived almost an hour late for the game. Nonetheless we had quite a fruitful time training as a team during the delay. It was amazing how 9 shots found the net amidst the sweltering heat that battered us like an invisible 3rd opponent. Players were caught stealing rather long breathers during gameplay as the game stretched into the midafternoon scorch. Eventually, our opponents conceded to the heat and they walked out of the game for a 5min water break midway thru the 2nd half, much to our amusement. It was quite an irony that the team sponsored by "Diamond Water" had ran out of water before we did.

The game seemed like a dialogue where each team responded to each other's goals till the final whistle ended the arduous conversation. I must say that the goals from Ben, Victor, Clement and Charlie were a class above our opponents goals. Ben had a great strike from just outside the box into the left bottom corner. It was so well-struck that the keeper didn't even attempt a save. Victor's was with usual finesse. Clement's lob from "lots of yards away" left everyone's mouth gaping open. That goal was probably our furthest shot to date that met the target. Charlie had his share of the bounty when a defensive mistake presented him with a chance just outside the danger area. The goals against us were rather encouraging in a sense that they were the result of silly mistakes and not because we were out classed. Without this sounding like a concession, I'm sure all of us are capable of way better play because we've done it before and moments of disappointment are usually due to a lapse in concentration.

Without being too consumed by the scoreline, I believe that every game, be it a win or a loss, is a chance allowing us to bond better in our game and also as friends. We have had moments that tested our patience and also times of frustration where we kept our cool. It is heartening that we are beginning to encourage each other more on the field. Every goal is always worth a team compliment for it is always a team effort.
